Mayor & Council - Emsworth Borough is a
form of Government under the Laws of Pennsylvania. The Mayor is elected
to a four year term and oversees Public Safety. The Mayor is a
tie-breaker vote when needed for actions of Council. Emsworth Borough
Council is a seven
member board elected to four year terms. The Council is vested with the
legislative and executive powers of the Borough and is responsible for
the annual budget, setting policy and making appointments to various
boards.
Borough Secretary - The Borough
Secretary is appointed by Emsworth Council and provides support services
to Emsworth Borough Council through day to day business of the Borough.
The Office of the Borough Secretary is open Monday - Friday 9:am to
3:pm; the office is located on the first floor of the Borough Hall at
171 Center avenue.
Borough Treasurer - The Borough
Treasurer is appointed by Emsworth Council and is responsible for the
receipt, care and disbursement of the Borough's public funds.
Real Estate Tax Collector - The
Emsworth Borough Real Estate Tax Collector is elected by the residents
of the Borough to a four year term and is responsible for the collection
of Emsworth Borough and Avonworth School District real estate taxes. The
Real Estate Tax Office is located on the first floor of the Borough Hall
at 171 Center Ave and is open Wednesdays 9:30am to 2:30pm or by
appointment.
